We will learn what makes good art.
*How to setup successful compositions.
*Recognize bad compositions.
*Color and how it impacts our painting process.
*Light – the ultimate force in a composition.
*How to create thumbnail sketches to confirm the composition.
*Creating a “Game Plan” before starting a painting.

*How to do the “Golden Ratio” to check your focal point in a composition.
I will be presenting many different Power Point slides throughout the class, Principles of Organization, Elements of Art, successful composition ideas in landscape, interior and still life paintings.
Note taking and questions are encouraged!
Materials:
*Pencils and eraser
*Sketchbook, 11x 14 would be a good size
*12” ruler and a small triangle.
That’s it!
You will leave this class with a better understanding of art and abetter artist!
